1. PURPOSE.
This Policy establishes criteria for the composition of the Facility Advisory Board of the Los Angeles ARTCC.
2. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
The Office of Primary Responsibility (OPR) for this Policy is the ZLA Facility Advisory Board. This Policy was originally drafted by Marc Sykes , ZLA Facility Chief, on January 1, 2004 , and approved by Ian Elchitz , VATUSA Western Regional Director. This Policy shall be maintained, revised, updated or cancelled by the ZLA Facility Advisory Board or any organization that supersedes, replaces or assumes the FAB responsibilities. Any suggestions for modification/amendment to this Policy should be sent to the FAB for review.

4. BACKGROUND.
Previous Chiefs of the Los Angeles ARTCC have chosen to establish an advisory board consisting of ARTCC staff members, and other individuals with desirable experience or wisdom, to aid in making administrative and policy decisions related to the operation of the ARTCC. This policy establishes clear guidelines for the composition of this Facility Advisory Board.
5. REQUIREMENTS.
The ZLA Facility Advisory Board shall primarily be composed of the ARTCC Staff. The following staff members will be considered full members of the Facility Advisory Board:
- ARTCC Air Traffic Manager;
- Deputy Air Traffic Manager;
- Training Administrator;
- Staff Instructor(s);
- Webmaster;
- Facility Engineer;
- Events Director;
Full members of the ZLA Facility Advisory Board will have reading and posting privileges in the FAB Forum, and will have voting privileges in informal polls conducted by the FAB.
Secondarily, the Facility Advisory Board will include non-voting advisory members. Advisory members of the ZLA Facility Advisory Board will have reading and posting privileges in the FAB Forum, but will not vote in any polls conducted by the FAB.
